Il habitait au Fort Saint-François à Aire-sur-La-Lys. Il était soldat invalide de la compagnie de Monsieur de Plongs (cité en 1760) et de la compagnie de M. Blousch (cité en 1761).

On peut y lire, page 18 :

"Au fort Saint-François, de 1734 à 1763 : - 61 naissances; - 5 mariages; - 50 décès.

Il y avait plusieurs compagnies au Fort Saint-François dont la compagnie d'Invalides de M.Blousch (1750-1761). Au capitaine Blousch mort le 1/12/1761 à 76 ans, succéda en mai 1762, Jean François Tugnot de Lanoy".

Dans ce livre, parmi les soldats est cité le nom de Lafort dit St Martin. A la mort du capitaine BLOUSCH, l'effectif des 2 compagnies d'Invalides, qui occupaient le fort Saint François, fut sensiblement réduit.
