BIOGRAPHIE: Beloit Daily News April 23, 1974??(Tuesday) _ Herbert Rauhut, 65, of Janesville, drowned Monday when his car left Highway 51 north of Beloit and careened into a cooling channel along Rock River generating station, and sank in seven feet of water....A former Chicago man was arrested in Indiana on suspicion of robbing the First National Bank's Inman Parkway branch of $22,350 last Aug. 22; Milton Sparkman had mailed the loot from Beloit to a Chicago address and later called Beloit postal workers to complain about the slowness of delivery....Representatives of Beloit and the towns of Turtle and Beloit have agreed to participate in an area wide transportation study, a move seen as possibly easing antagonisms between the city and the towns....Al W. Gusner, who is active in the Stateline Community Planning Council and other groups, has been named the Beloit Booster of the Week.
